I love visiting my friends in Philadelphia. It's not NYC, but I think that's the point, it's a completely different kinda of place. And by different, I mean better for me.
Don't get me wrong, I totally get the romance of Manhattan, but no one really wants you here. Seriously, get out. And if you don't agree, watch the reaction you get when you hold a door open for someone! Seriously, try it, you won't be disappointed!
ANYWAYS, a friend recently passed on an interesting ad campaign capitalizing on the eroding myth of the big city... to get you to move to PHILADELPHIA of all places. And I like it! In her words, "it's great copy. It really makes you think more than twice."
I couldn't agree more, I thought about it THRICE. Definitely check it out. (faves below):
I recently ran across this. It is a compilation reel of all of the ads created SPECIFICALLY for the film "Children of Men".
Okay, weird on several levels:
1. The had to hire a real agency to create all of these ads, like doing "market research" for "the future". Proving my original hypothesis that all real "market research" is about as valid as tarot card readings.
2. They are ads... FROM THE FUTURE.
3. In a future plagued by infertility and chaos, the only noticeable difference are the there are now ads for suicide.
4. Future. Infertile. Chaos. Jackets for Dogs. It's like a reverse timeline for the destruction of our civilization.
Off subject for a second, if you haven't seen this movie already you are missing out. It's the perfect marriage between entertainment and artistic expression.
Rapcat. In full effect. Nas' new track "Hip Hop is Dead"? Not quite, I mean Rally's/Checker's new promotion is just the synthesis of awesome...
Please please have your headphones on or your speakers turned up, this thing is going to be HUGE. And by HUGE I mean REALLY ANNOYING in like 3 days. View this immedaitely.
